I Worry About This Generation

Well worry is the wrong word.

It's an odd mixture between concern and gross admiration for the attachment this generation has towards the internet and social media.

I guess you could call me a black kettle as I have an attachment to Television/Films. But the difference is I can go from day to day without watching Television if need be. If I'm out at work, or if I'm just busy. Although it is at my fingertips in a sense i.e.; ipad, phone etc I also isn't.

My sister will spend hours on YouTube watching everything and anything. She will scroll through Facebook and Instagram without ever posting or commenting (which is just weird) watch every snapchat story and flick between whatsapp groups.

I am not an advocate for one of those annoying "Put technology down and live" campaigns. What I am saying is that it is annoying that you can no longer have a conversation with someone where they actually look at you when you speak, or are waiting for you to finish speaking as they are just itching to jump and their phone.

I am not such a big fan of social media and so perhaps that is why I may come across sounding high and mighty. Now there is no problem with all the technology that has befallen on us, at the end of the day, checking your email on the go, using GPS and being able to text without credit are all fantastic, but there is more to life than a screen.

Said the telly addict as she typed away on her laptop to a world of people she had never met.

Blog Challenge: Day 10 - Best Trip Of Your Life

I am not actually going to say South America, please wipe the look of surprise off of your face, I have one or two other tricks in this bag.

As the Challenge used the word trip and not holiday or travel adventure, I am going to pick something a lot closer to home.

To date the best trip of my life (which may add is a completely dramatic sentiment) was when me and my sister went to Chatsworth House in Spring 2014.

She had come to stay with me in uni for a few days and I was in the middle of some deadline but I was like; Screw it. (Because I am super organised and had planned my assignment so that I would finish a week and a half before it was due. Stay in School.) There was a bus that took us directly there, it was an hour long but it wasn't too bad as the stop was close to my house.

The two of us catch so much jokes, we will be holding on to one another crying with laughter over the smallest and most stupid things that are just indescribable to others and often just not found amusing. It was a great day, I had just gotten my new phone and it was Mr Darcy's in Derbyshire (The miserable half) so it was just all in all a fantastic day.

21 things creative people do differently than the rest.

Possibly a lil obsessed with my status as a creative, but alas;

1. They get inspired at the least expected moment.

2. They daydream. A lot.

3. They get bored easily.

4. They watch the world with the eyes of a child.

5. They will fail, and you can be sure they will try again.

6. They are told to get a real job.

7. They will follow their heart, even if often their mind thinks otherwise.

8. They get lost in time.

9. They work when you sleep and they sleep when you work

10. Where most people see a difficulty, they see an opportunity.

11. They fall in love with their pieces of work, and hate them the day after.

12. They hate what they’ve just created, but will totally love it 12 hours later

13. They are humble and proud at the same time.

14. They are always looking to new ways to express themselves.

15. They procrastinate.

16. They see the other side of the coin.

17. They don't like boundaries.

18. They often don't like numbers.

19. They are great observers.

20. They always make new experiences.

21. They do it all over again.

Well minus the ones that I felt didn't quite fit the M.O I was going for anyway.

Blog Challenge: Day 9 - What's In Your Bag/Wallet

Well luckily for me I did this one very recently, so just scroll on through my posts until you hit it, or click this link to jump directly there.

http://letsnotbemelodramatic.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/whats-in-my-bag.html

However I have just gotten a new bag, so I guess that's something new I can add to this post. (lols unknowing pun)

As we all know, I'm super choosy, but managed to pick this bag up while I was away. Not really what someone would call my type, namely because it's a designer bag and I tend to shy away from designer things as they're rarely my style but this Guess bag is pretty cute and it's black and silver, and you would not believe how difficult that colour combo is to come by,

People Keep Telling Me Things I Already Know

You should get a mac
You should travel here
You should go there on a night out
You should get a new car
You should move out
You should clean your car
You should try and get a job here
You should move there

They tell me things like I haven't already though about it, like I have the money to do it, or as if I haven't been trying.

Like how about instead of You Should, you try and ask, Have You, or What Are You it'd still be annoying but incredibly less so as it would mean less assumptions being made.

Start Spreading The News...I'm Leaving Today

Firstly and most disappointedly, I'm actually not going anywhere.

I did just come back from New York and as such I am in that post holiday depressed mode that we all know and loathe.

I went for Thanksgiving; The Macy's Day Parade, Black Friday, and to just stuff my face. I wasn't really there for the touristy stuff but still managed to fit some in.

I stayed in an airbnb apartment in New Jersey, which was only a 20 minute $3 bus ride to Port Authority Bus Terminal near Time Square. I went with one of my oldest friends, we had a few arguments and a lot of laughs but it was all worth it. I also managed to meet up with one of the friends I made during my travels to South America last year, which was fun, she's an amazing person and catching up on life and discussing our next adventures for hours was just what I needed. It's a shame she lives so far away, but it does give me an excuse to go back to America a number of times and mooch on her couch.

Can't really think of much else to say about the trip. I keep a travel journal so the day to days are all written down, and I took over 750 pictures, because I love snapping random moments, so here are a few to inspire, awe and make you smile.
